18 SEP 2009 AN AN-32 AIRCRAFT OF IAF LANDED AT NYOMA

YearsBack on This Day IAF : 18 Sep 2009, an AN-32 of IAF landed at Nyoma. This was the first landing of a fixed wing aircraft at Nyoma Advance Landing Ground (ALG), this ALG is located at a height of 13ooo feet in Ladakh Sector. Air Chief Marshal NAK Browne, then AOC-in-C, Western Air Command was onboard the aircraft along with the crew & Lt Gen PC Bhardwaj, GOC-in-C of Northern Command. The captain of the aircraft was Gp Capt SC Chafekar.
