TENZING NORGAY NATIONAL ADVENTURE AWARDS :
The Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports had instituted National Adventure Awards (renamed as Tenzing Norgay National Adventure Awards) in 1993 with a view to giving due recognition to the achievements made by persons in the field of adventure. The following airwarriors are the recipients of this award:

CONCLUSION
This Dte has always endeavoured to promote adventure in its true spirits amongst AF personnel and broad base all activities to ensure maximum participation. All activities are carried out in a professional manner keeping safety paramount. Sustained efforts are made to project the right image of the AF and motivate the youth to join the AF. It is this spirit of adventure that has spawned the discovery of new world records in the yester years and forays into the vast expanse of space today. This spirit cultivates qualities of courage initiative, fearlessness and team spirit so essential for 'Air Warriors'.
The IAF has also earned many feathers in it's cap in the field. It has recorded many firsts and set World and National records. The supremacy of the IAF in aero sports is unchallenged. Conduct of skydiving demonstrations and expeditions not only in the country but also over the North Pole and South Pole inculcates National solidarity and motivates young talent to join the Armed Forces.
This Dte is in the process of de-centralisiing all adventure activities, create nodal centres in various Commands, provide infrastructure and support to deserving potential to do better and bring honour and pride to the IAF and the country as well.
It is a time to get out of your offices, spend a few days in close harmony with nature and go back rejuvenated. Adventure will shape you into a better 'Air Warrior'.
