AIRCRAFT AND SYSTEMS TESTING ESTABLISHMENT

ASTE is a premier establishment in Indian Air Force (IAF) which conducts flight testing of aircraft, airborne systems and weapon stores prior to their induction into the Indian Air Force (IAF). Additionally, ASTE undertakes flight testing of airborne systems designed and developed by agencies such as DRDO for IAF.

Test Facility Requisition Proforma

The private entity interested to utilise one or more of the above mentioned test facility is required to download the requisition Proforma, fill up the relevant details and forward the test facility request through post/fax to the Nodal officer (Joint Director Projects (ASTE)) at the following address:-

BASE REPAIR DEPOT

Base Repair Depots of IAF undertake major repair and overhaul of aircraft, aero engines and other technical equipment of IAF. These BRDs are specific to a Type of aircraft or system and are located all over the country.

Test Facilities at BRDs for Private Entities

Load Testing Capacity for Aircraft Hydraulic Jacks upto 82500 kgf.
Material Testing Facilities (Spectrometer, Hardness, X-Ray)
Rubber Testing Facilities (With Ageing Test Facility)
NDT Facilities (Magnetic Flaw Detection, Eddy Current, Dye Penetrate)
Hose (Rubber) Burst Test Facility
Hot and Cold Chamber Test
General Engineering Tests such as Plasma spray, KNA coating, 20B coating, Welding, Heat treatment, Rubber moulding, Lathe,Electroplating, etc.
Calibration facilities for instruments, gauges, signal generators, etc.
Universal tensile strength testing
Environmental testing (vibration and temperature) in HASS Chamber.
Fabric test facilities and material test facilities for identification of nylon, polyester, cotton and linen.
